Domestic Helper Healthcare and Health Education Service
[Domestic Helper Service]
Greetings from the Medical Outreachers 8th ExCo! Right before the arrival of exams, here comes another service opportunity. During the service, volunteers will have the opportunity to serve underprivileged domestic workers through health checks and focus group. Besides, the group will work together to design a health education session (Topics would mainly based on hypertension and diabetes) for these helpers, hoping to teach them basic medical knowledge that is applicable to them.

Teddy Bear Hospital
[Teddy Bear Hospital]
Greetings from the Medical Outreachers! We are now recruiting participants for the Teddy Bear Hospital service. This service aims to educate about health, as well as to reduce the fear of visiting doctors or undergoing medical procedures among children. In collaboration with Heep Hong Society, we will be serving the children with mental disabilities. Students will lead children in interactive games surrounding health topics, and lead a “surgery” session with an anatomical teddy bear. We hope that students can develop better communication skills and be able to foster a deeper and more personal relationship with the service targets.
Greetings from Medical Outreachers! We would like to introduce you our latest series of Cataract short trips in collaboration with Green Action Foundation. Such hands-on experience allows you to have a glimpse of how a small-scaled non-governmental organisation (NGO) mobilizes to improve the health conditions of impoverished people.
In each surgery trip, 2 volunteers will be recruited to provide assistance to the medical team in pre- and post-surgical procedures, facilitate the smooth running of the programme and extend care to the elderly undergoing operation. Volunteers may also have the chance to observe surgeries performed by doctors from a local eye hospital.

Medical Outreachers 2017
In accordance with the mission of Medical Outreachers, it is our hope that all students can have equal chances to participate in our service trips to reach out to the needy and not be at a disadvantage due to personal financial difficulties. As a result, Medical Students Outreach Fund (MSOF) was set up in 2013 for providing financial assistance to participants with financial needs and supporting our expanding scope of services.
