In collaboration with Green Action, we have been continuously organising cataract trips for medical students. Medical Students travel to Guangdong with a team consisting of ophthal- mologists, nurses from local hospitals and (some retired) medical staff from Hong Kong. These trips are categorised into two types: screening and surgery. The screening trips allow students to assist medical staff in the pre-operative stage— helping to perform screening checks on cataract patients. The surgery trips allow students to assist staff during operations, and occasionally with post-operative procedures. These trips provide students with both general clinical exposure and specific experience in the field of ophthalmology.
